Two Arizona Southern Baptist associations experienced staff changes recently.
David Cox became the associational missionary in Grand Canyon Association in October 2019. He assists churches in the association with discovering resources to fulfill their mission and fosters mutual support through development and nurture of relationships between associational leaders and churches. Grand Canyon Association has 11 churches and three missions, two on Native American reservations and All Nations in Flagstaff.
In addition, Cox continues to serve as a bivocational pastor of First Southern Baptist Church in Ash Fork.
Joshua Hodges was named associational mission strategist for Valley Rim Association at the Oct. 15, 2019, associational annual meeting. He will continue to serve as pastor of Every Tribe & Nation Church in Mesa and as Leader Care facilitator with Arizona Baptist Children’s Services & Family Ministries.
Hodges had served as Valley Rim’s interim associational mission strategist since February 2018. Valley Rim includes 76 churches and covers 7,326 square miles.
Debra Wolfrey recently retired as education director for Valley Rim Association after serving for 18 years.
“Deb‘s impact on our association is yet to be fully realized,” Hodges said. “Her work in the association will continue to impact our churches for years to come. Deb’s contribution to Valley Rim exemplified a kingdom mindset and the results continue to multiply.”
