Three with Arizona ties graduate from Southern

Three students with ties to Arizona graduated from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in the spring commencement ceremony.

Southern Seminary conferred degrees to 297 Southern students on May 14.

Michael Butterworth, whose hometown is Overgaard, and Amber and Robert Smith, from Lake Havasu City, all received the master of divinity.

Michael and Amber are both children of Arizona pastors. Michael’s father, Rick, is pastor of First Southern, Overgaard, and Amber’s father, Chad Garrison, is pastor of Calvary, Lake Havasu City.

Robert Smith is the new youth minister at Calvary, Lake Havasu City, and Amber Smith is serving as a volunteer at the church, organizing volunteers and doing outreach ministry.
