Three people received diplomas at the graduation ceremony of Escuela Bíblica de Liderazgo (Bible School of Leadership) Jan. 28 at First Southern, Phoenix.

Yolanda Ramirez and Gabriela Rivera, members of Centro Cristiano de Alabanza y Adoración in Phoenix, and Yesenia Anaya, a member of La Hermosa, received the basic leadership diploma.

Arizona Southern Baptist Convention Executive Director David Johnson and AZSBC Facilitators Eddy Pearson and Ken Belflower presented the diplomas to the graduates.

Fernando Amaro, school director and Arizona Hispanic church planting catalyst, gave the commencement address. Amaro began the school to help Spanish-speaking Arizona Southern Baptists as they serve as leaders in their churches.

In its first phase beginning in 2005 as part of a Contextualized Leadership Development program through Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary, the school graduated 14 students. Since coming under the auspices of the Arizona Southern Baptist Convention, the school has graduated 12 students.
