Kinman, retired Arizona pastor, dies

Jerry Kinman, retired longtime Arizona Southern Baptist pastor, died July 17 in Missouri, where he had moved from Arizona late last year. He was 74.

Kinman retired in 2014 after serving as pastor of First Baptist Church, Parker, for 17 years. Prior to that, he was pastor of First Southern Baptist Church, Chino Valley, for 14 years.

In all, Kinman was pastor of Arizona Southern Baptist churches for 37 years. Previous pastorates included First Southern, St. David; San Carlos Apache Baptist Church, San Carlos; and First Southern, Prescott Valley.

He is survived by Earlene, his wife of 53 years; daughters Carla (Rick) Bonura and Kay (Jack) Woodbury; three sisters; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Memorial services were held at First Southern, Chino Valley, Aug. 10 and First Baptist, Parker, Aug. 26.
