Durham to fill new role
Oct 25, 2019
Keith Durham, church revitalization specialist with the Arizona Southern Baptist Convention since May 2017, will fill a new AZSBC facilitator role as church health facilitator beginning Jan. 1, 2020.
In this new position, Durham will continue to focus on church revitalization, but he will also concentrate on leadership development and church ministries.
The Arizona Southern Baptist Convention Council approved the new position and approved Durham to fill the position at their meeting Sept. 10.
As church revitalization specialist, Durham has been serving part-time while also serving as pastor of First Baptist Church, Arizona City.
“Keith will be serving full time in this [new] position exclusively to be available to our pastors, leaders and churches,” AZSBC Executive Director David Johnson told the council.
Keith Henry, AZSBC leadership facilitator, has announced his retirement, effective Dec. 31. He will be recognized for his 32 years of serving Arizona Southern Baptists at the AZSBC annual meeting in November. (See the story in the next issue of Portraits.)
Henry will “continue to serve on a contractual basis in leadership coaching, coordinating the Pastors and Wives Retreat, and working with the Church Unique process,” Johnson told the council. “This way we can continue to benefit from his wisdom, expertise and experience.”
