Buyer cancels AZSBC office sale

Aug 28, 2018

The Arizona Southern Baptist Convention office and Gateway Seminary Arizona Campus in Scottsdale won’t be relocating as soon as anticipated.

The real estate developer, whose offer of $2.55 million for the property had been accepted earlier this year, pulled out of the deal in mid-August.

However, the decision to sell the property still stands.

“We are in the process of receiving other offers to purchase the Hayden Road property,” said AZSBC Executive Director David Johnson. “We are confident that the building will sell; we just don’t know when.”

In the meantime, with a commitment not to purchase new property before closing on the sale of the present property, the AZSBC has withdrawn its offer to purchase Cornerstone Plaza, an office complex owned by Calvary PHX in northwest Phoenix.

“We still hope to pursue that building later when our building sells,” Johnson said.
