What is this book about?
Written in both Spanish and English, The Cactus Dance/La Danza del Cactus invites readers to join a saguaro cactus and other desert wildlife in a monsoon celebration as they playfully stomp, growl, twirl and howl through the story.
What do you want your readers to gain by reading your book?
I want readers to DANCE — to rattle, wiggle, stomp, jiggle as they read the story. It’s best read with kids, but, hey, … dogs, squirrels and chinchillas love stories too.
Why did you write this book?
My youngest son, Jerome, is … delightfully wild. He was never, ever, ever quiet in the library, so I wrote a loud, interactive, high-energy book for all the wiggly kids (and adults) out there.
Who do you hope will read this book?
Arizonans who understand the thrill of a monsoon storm, parents with kids, youth pastors wearing shackets, and lead pastors who struggle with lapel mics.
Where can this book be purchased?
