Book Corner: A Year Without Fear by Harry Sexton

Apr 19, 2022

Harry Sexton is associate pastor of Laveen Baptist Church in Laveen.

What is this book about?
Fear and why it shouldn’t be a controlling factor in our lives.

From the back cover:
Fear, in all of its various manifestations, is a constant in people’s lives. The Bible addresses them all but in the original languages the authors had many different words to differentiate them. We can have a year without fear that leads to a life of fearlessness once we understand them and see what God’s Word says. Of course, the most common response from the Bible is “Fear not.” This book will show you why that is possible.

What do you want your readers to gain by reading your book?
The Bible addresses all kinds of fear and then tells us why fear should not be the baseline for how we make decisions and go about our lives.

Why did you write this book?
I wrote the book using my almost 30-year career as a police officer and Christian having to face a lot of different kinds of fear. I want people to realize that fear does not have to be our go-to position as we face life and all of its uncertainties.

Who do you hope will read this book?
Everyone from high school on up. Fear doesn’t know an age group, employment status or ethnic background.

Where can this book be purchased?
A Year Without Fear can be purchased at Amazon.com, Barnes&Noble.com and iTunes.
