Churches use ABCS Mother’s Day materials
Jul 10, 2018
More than 83 churches across Arizona utilized free Mother’s Day materials provided by Arizona Baptist Children’s Services & Family Ministries.
The materials are provided as a service to churches to make it easy for them to honor moms. The bulletin inserts, posters and video honored all types of moms, including birth moms, grandmas, foster moms, adoptive moms, grieving moms and more.
As part of their ministry serving hurting children and families, ABCS recognizes the special role moms and mother figures play in their families. They were glad to be able to celebrate moms throughout the month of May.
On social media, ABCS shared 12 “real mom stories” of hardship, struggle and joy, highlighting the different types of moms they have the privilege of serving through their seven ministries.
Many of the churches utilizing the free materials also took a Mother’s Day offering to benefit ABCS, a longstanding Arizona Southern Baptist tradition. These offerings will directly benefit moms like those who were featured in the stories on social media.
ABCS received very positive feedback on this year’s Mother’s Day materials. North Phoenix Baptist Church played the ABCS video during their service.
“It was a cool moment,” said Lucas Bass, a member of the church and a leader at ABCS. “North Phoenix is a diverse community and church family, and ABCS helped capture and reflect what makes mothers from all walks of life so special.” The video also resonated with moms online as it reached more than 6,500 people and was viewed over 2,300 times.
Church partners are critical to the kingdom work being done in and through ABCS. For more information on how to get involved, or to receive free materials in the future, visit abcs.org or call 800-678-0648.
