Church Planting

Why Arizona?

Millions living in North America have not been reached with the gospel. Arizona's rapid growth provides a unique opportunity and urgent need for church planters to create change in unreached neighborhoods.

How to Get Involved

In order to reach the people of a growing Arizona with the gospel, everyone needs to get involved. We strive to see every Southern Baptist church make church planting a priority in at least one of these four ways.

Commit to becoming a multiplying congregation that plants new churches.

Partner Icon

Adopt an existing church plant, supporting them through giving, encouragement, and prayer.

Why Church Planting?

The Bible charges all believers to spread the gospel. Through his words in Matthew 28: 19-20 and Acts 1:8, Jesus sends his disciples to replicate themselves through the power of the Holy Spirit around the world. We believe that the most effective evangelistic strategy to fulfill this mission is planting new churches.

The primary purpose of church planting in the Arizona Southern Baptist Convention is to help Southern Baptist churches and associations spread the gospel of Jesus Christ by planting healthy, reproducing churches with evangelistic passion among all peoples in Arizona. In order to do this to the best of our ability, we work closely with Send Network, the church planting arm of the North American Mission Board.

Send Network Arizona

Send Network Arizona has a desire to come along established churches to plant churches everywhere, for everyone. We exist to help churches examine where pockets of people are that do not have relationship with Jesus and start Southern Baptist churches. We do this by helping churches develop leader and missional residencies all over the state of Arizona. With over 300 people a day moving into our state, we need to start a minimum of one church every day to keep up with our growing population.

To find out more how your church can develop a residency, plant a church or partner with a church plant, please fill out the form below.
