The Faith of a Child
Mar 15, 2016
A young girl named Mia* was living in a group home. She could have visits with her mother that were supervised by a parent aide from Arizona Baptist Children’s Services & Family Ministries (ABCS). Her parent aide thought she would do better in a foster home and mentioned it to her supervisor.
Within a week, Mia was placed in a Christian foster home through Arms of Love Foster Care, a ministry of ABCS. The parent aide saw an indescribable transformation. Mia began talking about Jesus and singing praise songs in the car to and from visits.
Mia told her parent aide she was afraid her mom wouldn’t go to heaven since she didn’t know Jesus. The two prayed, and it brought the parent aide to tears to see Mia intercede for her mom. During one visit, Mia asked her mom if she believed in God. Sadness came across her face when her mom said no. In the car afterward, Mia’s parent aide reassured her they would never give up praying for her mom.
Each week on the way to visits, Mia prays, “Dear Jesus, I just love you so much. I pray for my mom to believe in You and live in heaven forever.” With the faith of a child, she is praying for and witnessing to her own mother during visits.
Your gifts through the Cooperative Program help support foster families like Mia’s so children like her can know the love of God and the message of the gospel. Thank you for joining ABCS in their mission to provide hope and care to hurting children and families through Christ-centered ministries.
Mia is the CP.
Because you and your church give, You are the CP.
