Because You Gave…

Mar 31, 2016

Jose CPYou do not know Jose, but you have touched his life. You may have never set foot in the village where he lives, but you have been there many times. Jose lives in a village called Mundimwe on the coast of the Indian Ocean in Mozambique, Africa.

Jose heard the gospel for the first time when a young man named Jeremiah Johnson came to his village with a local pastor named Sobrinho. Later, a Journeyman missionary named Jessica Riemersma came from Arizona to teach what the Bible says about following Jesus.

As a result, Jose came to know Christ along with several others in his village. Now he is the leader of a fledgling church of about 60 people there.

To use biblical terminology — Jeremiah planted, Jessica watered, and God gave the increase.

Not only were Jeremiah and Jessica both from Arizona, but they were also both sent as missionaries from the International Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention. They served alongside John Dina, an IMB career missionary, also from Arizona. All of them were able to be there because of gifts from you and your church to missions through the Cooperative Program.

That is how you have touched Jose’s life and visited him many times. In fact, if you had not given so that missionaries like Jessica, Jeremiah, and John could go, Jose may never have heard about Jesus.

Jose is the CP.

Because you and your church give, You are the CP.
